Sustainable Design Summit 2023 will host one main conference stream to foster education across all three sectors. Throughout the day, dive into real-world examples and case studies providing commercial context and celebrating truly sustainable design. Topics discussed will range from navigating emissions numbers to creating more circular designs. Delegates will leave more equipped to improve sustainability across all aspects of interior design. This year’s extensive speaker line-up features representatives from these sector’s biggest players, including Airbus, Air Canada, AIDA Cruises, Hilton, IHG Hotels & Resorts, Royal Caribbean and more. They will be hosted by Darian Stibbe of The Partnering Initiative.

At SDS, there will be two concurrent breakout streams throughout the day for deeper dive workshops and interactive roundtable discussions. Collaboration is a crucial element of sustainable interior design, with this year’s host, Darian Stibbe, arguing that it is the key to reaching sustainability goals and creating a better future. Fostering collaboration is an integral part of the Sustainable Design Summit 2023 agenda.

Collaboration is a key element in creating a more circular lifecycle for products and materials within interior design. Recently, Holland America Group collaborated with carpet manufacturer Dansk Wilton to launch an innovative new material, RE:SHAPE. This is created using recycled carpet waste from Holland America Line’s vessels which is then transformed into various products.
