As Principal Manager, Andrea Bartoli is leading the Outfitting Design Team in Carnival Corporate Shipbuilding. Andrea is accountable for the design development dealing with all the parties involved (architects, yard, outfitters, corporate entities, etc), and has been working for almost 20 years in the cruise building industry in charge of newbuilding, refitting, dry-dock, and operation.
Andrea has been involved in more than 50 cruise vessels projects, delivered and refurbished. He works with all the major shipyards in the world including Fincantieri, Meyerwerft, Daman, Mariotti, Bremenhaven, Sembawang, Grand Bahamas Freeport, Shanghai HRDD, Cadiz, and more, whilst collaborating with several architects and lighting designers.
Callie is Founding Partner and Creative director of Volume Creative, a female owned and led, multidisciplinary design studio in the UK. She is an agent for change and a powerful ally for sustainable design innovation within the industry. Callie collaborates with brands that want to make a positive change in their industry and helps them to build deeper, more meaningful brand stories. She has led ground breaking projects across the airline, cruise and hospitality sectors.
Recently, Callie and her partners have launched a new service, called Spared. Spared supports brands by providing bespoke solutions for their waste/by-product in the form of new surface materials, art, furniture and objects.
Lucienne Damm is a political scientist and working in the sustainable and environmental field for over 15 years. She is Head of Sustainability of TUI Cruises, a German cruise line operator with the two brands Mein Schiff and Hapag-Lloyd Cruises. Among others, she is responsible for the company’s sustainability strategy & climate roadmap and supporting projects, as well as the environmental management system (ISO 14001) and reporting processes. She is involved in TUI Cruises new build projects, always looking for sustainability innovations.
Since 2015, Lucienne is member of the Executive board of Futouris e.V., since 2022 she is the appointed Chairwoman of the Executive Board. She is also a member of the Sustainability Committee of DRV (German Travel Association).
Her former positions included a Research position at the Research Centre for Environmental Policy in Berlin and a position as Policy Officer for Transport at NABU e.V. in Berlin, one of Germany’s largest nature and biodiversity conservation NGO.
PriestmanGoode is a multi-disciplinary design consultancy with 35 years experience of creating global transport and hospitality solutions, bringing an elevated passenger experience and more sustainable solutions to transport interiors.
Mike is an experienced industrial and product designer. Since joining PriestmanGoode in 2013, he has worked on projects on multiple products across transport and hospitality, for clients, including: Austrian Federal Railway ÖBB, VIA Rail Canada, Zip by Premier Inn and United Airlines. Most recently, Mike has been leading a team who are creating elevated design experiences in small spaces. Particularly looking at ways to integrate different levels of customer experience and service into repeatable spaces for both the hospitality and cruise sectors. Mike was also the lead designer for PriestmanGoode’s First of a Kind rail project, funded by the UK’s Department for Transport which gained wide recognition including an endorsement from the UK Secretary of State for Transport. Mike studied at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. He received a First Class BA Hons in Product Design.
My is the Director of Interior Design for HA Line and leads the design department overseeing three prominent cruise brands: Holland America Line and Seabourn. My’s design experience is diversified across Refurbishment and Newbuild.
As a globally recognized thought leader, My’s repertoire of achievements span both land and sea. She is known for her internationally acclaimed award-winning designs as well as being a public speaker on topics close to her heart such as Sustainability and Leadership.
On the topic of inspiration, My says, “inspiration to me is not a noun. It’s more of a mindset. I’m as inspired seeing the colors of leaves while walking in my neighborhood as I am looking at fashion in different cities that I visit around the world. The key is to always keep your eyes open and not have tunnel vision. That mindset assures you will always feel inspired”.
Ren is a licensed interior designer who uses her first-hand experience of the complexities of the building industry to help designers and manufacturers translate their sustainability pledges into reality.
Prior to joining the Institute as Director of Built Environment, she worked in Portland as a designer, where she took her firm PVC-free, making them the first firm in Portland to make such a commitment. She was then the Director of Industry Transparency at Source, a digital materials platform, where she synthesized design team needs and industry trends to integrate sustainability seamlessly into the design process. This included building various user tools, growing strategic partnerships, and developing all of the sustainability filters on the platform.
She then worked at the International Living Future Institute, overseeing the Declare and Living Product Challenge programs. There she worked with both designers and manufacturers to understand the current market incentives for sustainable practices and how to implement sustainability strategy into everyday practices.

Tom Hupe is the Senior Director of Design, Hilton EMEA.
Within this role Tom oversees the Hilton EMEA design team based in the UK, Dubai and South Africa. Collectively the team is responsible for the review, elevation, approval and brand alignment of design proposals for all full service, luxury and lifestyle brands across EMEA.
The team currently oversees almost 300 active projects, which range from renovations to conversions and new developments.
Tom brings 20+ years’ experience of working as a designer exclusively in the hotel and leisure sector. During this time, he has been responsible for the design and project delivery of diverse and impressive range of hotels.
Zoë is responsible for embedding sustainability in both design and operation at Archer Hotel Capital, a portfolio of luxury European hotels including brands such as Marriott, Hilton and Hoxton. She is focused on carbon reduction, promoting circularity and community impact. She is passionate about educating and empowering designers to make more sustainable choices, as well as communicating these stories to guests. Zoe loves discovering new materials, biophilic design and promoting embodied carbon and lifecycle analysis. Current projects include renovation of the Hotel Arts Barcelona to BREEAM and WELL standards, and development of a cross-laminated timber building at the Renaissance Amsterdam. Zoe also brings knowledge from other sectors having previously worked in sustainability management for office, residential and retail portfolios at British Land, and prior to that as a responsible investment consultant and ESG auditor at KPMG. When she isn’t checking every bin in a hotel, she enjoys dancing and cycling.
The Working Groups
The educational Working Groups have been created to allow the Sustainable Design Summit community to share progress and challenges, and continue conversations throughout the year.
These roundtable events, led by leading hospitality brands, take place in-person globally, providing those working within the hospitality travel interiors sectors invaluable learning and networking opportunities.
Sustainable Design Summit attracts a highly targeted audience of qualified specifiers actively sourcing solutions for upcoming hospitality design projects – including cruise, ferry, yacht, hotel and resorts.
SDS Working Groups are co-located with Cruise Ship Interiors Design Expo Americas (9–10 June 2026, Miami), Hotel & Resort Design South (9–10 June 2026, Miami), and Cruise Ship Interiors Design Expo Europe (2–3 December, Hamburg). This co-location gives suppliers, manufacturers, and service providers the opportunity to showcase breakthrough innovations not only within the Working Groups, but also to a focused audience of 3,000+ industry professionals across the exhibition days.
