As an event dedicated to responsible decision-making within hospitality travel interior design, it is important to us, as organisers, to be sustainably minded when planning Sustainable Design Summit.
Please take a look at the following steps we have taken to work towards a zero-waste Summit:
-
Our online Working Groups will take place on the roundtable networking platform Remo – connecting all corners of the world without the need for travel
-
In-person Working Groups will take place at Cruise Ship Interiors Design Expos in both Miami and London, reducing the need for extra travel
-
The Product Showcase podiums are zero-waste, being made of recycled materials, and are fully recycled post-show
-
Signage you will see around the venue is made from reused and recyclable materials, and will be recycled after use
-
Badges and lanyards at the in-person Working Groups and Summit are 100% recyclable! We encourage attendees to recycle these after the events with the recycling drop-off ‘bins’
-
Eco-conscious venues for our Summits are chosen; having previously used the Museum of London Docklands and The Truman Brewery
-
Plastic-free Summits – replacing plastic cups with glass, using reusable plates and cutlery for refreshment breaks
-
On-site provision of water fountains – reducing water wastage and single-use plastic usage
-
Using environmentally conscious catering suppliers at our in-person events
-
Championing more plant-based catering options
